Privacy policy

Last updated: 12 ottobre 2026

The German version of this text is the legally binding one. This English version is provided for convenience.

This policy explains what happens to your data when you use this website. It does not cover what fonio.ai does with data once you become their customer — their own privacy policy applies there.

1. Who is responsible

The controller for data processing on this website is:

You can reach us at the contact details in our imprint.

2. Hosting

This website is run by an external hosting provider. When you open a page, your browser transmits technically necessary data, including your IP address, to the host, which stores it in server log files to deliver the website and keep it secure. To protect the request form from abuse, we also briefly count how many requests are sent from one connection; for this, the IP address is held only in hashed form in memory and is never stored. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in a website that works and is protected against abuse.

3. Requests through the form

When you send us the form, we process what you entered: your company, your name, your email address, your industry and, if given, your phone number, your country, the number of calls per day, the best time to call back and your message. With the request we also store, where available, the identifier of the team member whose link brought you here, a reference number, the page you sent the request from, the campaign details in the link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) and any product or plan you had selected. We use this information only to answer your request and prepare the conversation.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for our legitimate interest in handling business enquiries. Providing the data is voluntary, but without it we cannot call you back.

We store your request in a database hosted by Supabase (Supabase, Inc.). The emails we write about your request are stored there too: a confirmation to you and a notification to our team.

We send the confirmation email through the service Resend (Resend, Inc.), which processes your email address and the content of the message on our behalf as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR).

Our team works with your contact details and your request in a Google Sheets spreadsheet. The provider, Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, processes this data on our behalf as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR).

We keep requests for as long as we need them to handle them and as statutory retention periods require.

4. Clicks on partner links and the demo number

When you click a link to fonio or a button for our demo number, we record that the click happened, which button it was, which page it came from, which language was set and, if the link you used contained them, the identifier of the team member who sent you the link and an internal reference number. We store these entries in our database hosted by Supabase.

We also copy these entries into a Google Sheets spreadsheet to evaluate them (provider: Google Ireland Limited).

We store neither your IP address nor details about your browser, we set or read no cookies for this and we create no fingerprint. If your link contained a reference number, however, we can match a click to the request it belongs to.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in knowing which of our own outreach actually leads anywhere. We delete the entries once we no longer need them for this.

5. Cookies and your consent

We only store information on your device, or read information from it, where that is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for, or where you have consented. This follows from § 25 TDDDG and, for the subsequent processing, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

This website currently sets no cookies and stores nothing else on your device, which is why no cookie banner appears. If that changes, we will ask for your consent beforehand where it is required, and update this statement.

6. Google Analytics

We currently use no analytics tool. If we use Google Analytics in future, it will only be with your consent, and we will add it to this statement first.

7. fonio.ai

We are an independent partner of fonio.ai. When you click one of our partner links, you leave this website; from that point on, fonio's privacy policy applies.

8. Email

If you write to us by email, we process your address and the content of your message in order to reply, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR. Please note that ordinary email is not encrypted end to end.

9. Your rights

You have the right to obtain information about the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16), erased (Art. 17) or its processing restricted (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Art. 21).

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your habitual residence, your place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement.

10. No automated decision-making

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

11. Encryption

This site uses TLS encryption. You can recognise it by the lock symbol in your browser's address bar.

12. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the site or the law changes. The version date is shown at the top of this page.
